Naoki's Tutorial

As the world of Naoki's room began to digitalize and fade away, she would not only see, but feel herself falling into white space. The wind whipping at her body and her hair all felt, smelled, and tasted real. The suit began working immediately, and would be shining on the digital circuits, though she would not be able to see them. Her body would take on the shape of her preferred character. Her canine teeth elongated and her body felt a bit lighter. A slight, nagging thirst itched the back of her throat for a bit.

As her decent slowed to a halt, the world would once again digitize in front of her, this time taking on the look of an underground arena, with her right in the center of it.

"Hello, new player!"

The cheerful voice of a young woman called to the now Naoki Aoi. Standing several feet before her would be a young woman with burgundy red hair and glasses, wearing a green dress.



"My name is Mizuho Kazami, and I will be your sensei for the duration of this tutorial, onegai."

She bowed to her and smiled warmly.

Naoki was astounded at the sensation of transforming into her character. When her fangs elongated, she squealed in delight, always having wanted to know how it felt to have them. The thirst did bother her though, but she guessed it was because of her choosing vampiric as a starting ability.

"This...is...so...FUCKING AWESOME!" She cried as she finally touched ground. When she saw Mizuho-sensei, she immediately went wide eyed. "KAZAMI MIZUHO FROM ONEGAI SENSEI? WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU DOING HERE??"

It took her a moment to register that she said she was her sensei for the tutorial. When she heard that, she became serious but a giddy smile was still on her face. She couldn't wait to get started.

"Call me Kazami-sensei, Naoki-chan, onegai."

She smiled at Naoki's enthusiasm and giggled to herself as another player knew exactly who she was. It was becoming common and she was amazed so many people knew about her anime since it wasn't mainstream.

"What am I doing here?" She asked to herself, looking as if she didn't know either. Then she smiled deviously at Naoki. "I guess...that's a secret!"

After a small introduction into the game and an opening sequence, Mizuho supplied Naoki with a starter kit and explained about the Kingdom of Raizen.

"Once you leave here, Nao-chan, you will be able to do whatever you want. However, I suggest you take on this simple quest from me first, if you don't mind."

At her words, a boar appeared in front of her, digitizing like everything else. Unlike everything else that had seemed to be real in the game, stats and information popped up in front of Mizuho and next to the boar.

From: Mizuho Kazami-Sensei

Details: Kazami-sensei advises all new players to test their battle skills out against a single warhog under her watchful eye. You cannot be killed, but unfortunately you will not gain any exp or receive any items.

Reward: A hug from Kazami-sensei.

Naoki face palmed at Kazami-sensei's "It's a secret" line. It just made her want to know more. Or at the very least, she was thanking the developers of the game for the sweet Easter egg. Her ears perked up at the offer of her first quest, though it was just for the tutorial.

"Alright, I'm game! Let's do this!" With a swipe of her hand, she made her rapier appear and slashed it several times before holding it up in front of her face. Then she took a ready pose for only a split second before she dashed forward towards the Warhog. She had a gleam in her eye as she seemed to simply be rushing in. However, she was already thinking of exactly where she wanted to hit the creature. A tender spot, or just a vital spot? Her answer was obvious as her foot twitched and she began to run on her toes...

The warhog huffed at the foolish girls straight forward rush attack. He would show her she was nothing to him and also charged forward. The foolish girl dared rush the "Relentless Rusher"! This would be over in a flash!

"Hehehe!" Naoki chuckled darkly as she noticed the Warhog rush her back with reckless abandon, just as she expected. Just when the creature got within range and it looked as if Naoki would simply be mowed down and flattened, she bounced on her right foot and twirled, sending herself spinning upwards and then turning upside down. As the creature was right below her, she thrust down aiming at its spine with a quick and pinpoint strike!

The Warhog's eyes widened as Naoki's body suddenly propelled upwards! It couldn't stop it's momentum even if it wanted to, not that it would matter. Naoki's pinpoint strike would indeed hit the Warhog's spine dealing super effective damage and the monster tumbled over the ground before smashing right into the side of the Colosseum making a crater in the wall. A beautiful OHK! It's body burst into light soon after.

"Congratulations Nao-chan! That was a splendid display! The light you just absorbed would be your experience out in the actual world and the floating orb of light there would be any dropped items by the enemy. Do not forget to retrieve them when they appear."

A second flash of light would appear and a small blue chest would appear. "

"That's a common chest. They sometimes appear after defeating a weaker enemy. They are the chest most commonly found all around Lux Eterna."

The chest would disappear and then a bigger red chest would appear.

"That's a rare chest. They sometimes appear after defeating powerful monsters. They are usually really well hidden around the world and most are only found in dungeons."

Finally, a huge gold chest would take the place of the red chest.

"You probably already guessed it, but this would be a legendary chest. They only appear after secret boss battles and are only found in the most dangerous and difficult of areas."

After her explanation, the chest faded.

"Be warned, Nao-chan, that the monsters out there will be much tougher, including the Warhog you just faced. And sometimes that don't attack alone."

Mizuho smiled warmly again and a gate behind Naoki would rise up, letting a shining light blaze into the room.

"Your prize was a hug, Nao-chan! Would you like it?" Mizuho asked with her arms outstretched.

She sighed and smirked as the overgrown pig went down easy. She wondered if attacking vital spots on creatures gave increased chances of critical hits. When Mizuho explained about the chests, her excitement grew again. She looked forward to finding rare armor so she could get some cosplay ideas.

"A hug? Really?" Naoki asked with a small blush. This was a very important moment for Naoki. She had only ever dreamed of being able to physically interact with anime and video game characters. It made her realize how truly innovative this game really was. "Definitely!"

Naoki ran forward and flung herself into Mizuho's arms. When she felt the warmth of the woman and the smell of her perfume tickled her nose, she was left breathless. Tears entered her eyes as she experienced a once in a lifetime moment. She didn't think a simple hug would mean so much for her. After a few moments, Naoki leaned back and blushed. "Thank you Kazami- sensei!"

With her words, Naoki turned and rushed through the gate to start journey in a brand new world.
