Mortem's Tutorial

As the world of Mitsuki's room began to digitalize and fade away, he would not only see, but feel himself falling into white space. The wind whipping at his body and his hair all felt, smelled, and tasted real. The suit began working immediately, and would be shining on the digital circuits, though he would not be able to see them. His body would take on the shape of his preferred character, and for the first time in Mitsuki's life, he would feel what it was like to have a big bushy tail, and little fluffy ears!

As his decent slowed to a halt, the world would once again digitize in front of him, this time taking on the look of an underground arena, with him right in the center of it.

"Hello, new player!"

The cheerful voice of a young woman called to the now Mortem Falbare. Standing several feet before him would be a young woman with burgundy red hair and glasses, wearing a green dress.



"My name is Mizuho Kazami, and I will be your sensei for the duration of this tutorial, onegai."

She bowed to him and smiled warmly.

"Hello sensei and thank you for welcoming me to this fantastic world filled with beautiful skies, amazing architecture, beautiful women, and awesome people." He would say all this after having bowed to her.

Mizuho beamed brightly at Mortem. "It is a pleasure as well, Mortem-kun, onegai." She bowed back to him. She had never seen anyone say so much about the game even though he had only entered into what looked to be the inside of a Colosseum.

After a small introduction into the game and an opening sequence, Mizuho supplied Mortem with a starter kit and explained about the Kingdom of Raizen.

"Once you leave here, Mortem-kun, you will be able to do whatever you want. However, I suggest you take on this simple quest from me first, if you don't mind."

At her words, a boar appeared in front of her, digitizing like everything else. Unlike everything else that had seemed to be real in the game, stats and information popped up in front of Mizuho and next to the boar.

Details: Kazami-sensei advises all new players to test their battle skills out against a single warhog under her watchful eye. You cannot be killed, but unfortunately you will not gain any exp or receive any items.

Reward: A download code for Onegai Sensei season 1

"I will gladly accept sensei." He then readys himself for combat by bringing out his bow and readying an arrow.

The Warhog sneered at the bow and immediately rushed forward. It wasn't scared, it seemed and was raring for the battle. A vortex of wind would seem to flow around its body as it charged straight for you, attempting a tackle attack.

He would release an arrow towards the right side of the Warhog to try and get it to divert it's course. He would then ready his water cleave spell.

The power and skill that Mortem had with his bow was amazing as his very first shot flew out with pinpoint precision. This shot would have been an instant kill if it were not for the Warhog's ability "Relentless Rush". The arrow would harmlessly bounce off of the Warhog's hide. Since Mortem didn't move from his initial spot, the Warhog would strike him with the tackle and push him back a few meters. Mortem would feel that the pain was indeed real, however, it was lessened considerably. Even more so since Mortem's defense was so high, it would barely feel like the creature had scratched him.

"Well, noted. Don't shot an an arrow at a rushing boar." He then slashes the water at an upward diagonal through the boars right foreleg and the later half of the boars side.

With another flourish, Mortem's water attack would cut deep into the boar, taking off one of it's legs and shaving off it's side. The water mixed with the creatures blood, splashing the entire area in red liquid. It was only for a few moments before the creatures body began to fade into light. A powerful attack indeed.

An orb of light would be floating just a bit off the ground and the smaller particles that the beast turned into would fly into Mortem. The sensation was like a warm, calming breeze and he would feel himself getting stronger.

"Congratulations Mortem-kun! That was a splendid display! The light you just absorbed would be your experience out in the actual world and the floating orb of light there would be any dropped items by the enemy. Do not forget to retrieve them when they appear."

A second flash of light would appear and a small blue chest would appear.

"That's a common chest. They sometimes appear after defeating a weaker enemy. They are the chest most commonly found all around Lux Eterna."

The chest would disappear and then a bigger red chest would appear.

"That's a rare chest. They sometimes appear after defeating powerful monsters. They are usually really well hidden around the world and most are only found in dungeons."

Finally, a huge gold chest would take the place of the red chest.

"You probably already guessed it, but this would be a legendary chest. They only appear after secret boss battles and are only found in the most dangerous and difficult of areas."

After her explanation, the chest faded.

"Be warned, Mortem-kun, that the monsters out there will be much tougher, including the Warhog you just faced. And sometimes they don't attack alone."

Mizuho smiled warmly again and a gate behind Mortem would rise up, letting a shining light blaze into the room.

"It is time for you to continue your journey! Good luck and have fun!"

"Thank you sensei for that information, it helps to know that." He would bow once again. "Also would you tease your husband a little for me? I mean he GATS a beauty like yourself so it's only fair if he gets teased a little right?" He would chuckle and through the gate waving goodbye to her.

Mizuho blushed when Mortem mentioned her husband. She had been sure he was one of the few players that didn't know she was from an anime! Her blush turned into a warm smile as he walked away and just before he exited, he would hear her call out, "I'll make sure to tease him just for you Mortem-kun!" She giggled and waved bye to him as well. Once he was gone, she turned and began to walk into another gate that had formed.

"The people who come here never cease to amaze me. I love this world, so much, onegai!"
