Rhys Crawford Tutorial

As Viso finish creating his character, he was virtualized through the portal leading to the world of Lux Eterna Online. Vibrant colors zoom all around and through him as the transportation finally meets to an end. He was introduced into a blank room nothing but white. No NPCs, Characters, environment, nothing. He looked around in confusion for a moment only to realize that he's in a tutorial. Rhys wanders around for a bit until something triggers.

The world around Visontas began to digitize and fade away, only for him to see white all around. There was the brisk feeling of him falling into empty space, the wind beating against his body. The functionality of the suit began its work and immediately he started to take on the qualities and characteristics his character held.

His slowing descent in the white space herald the coming of more digitalized space. All around him an arena was being constructed, the pieces falling into each other perfectly. Viso, no, Rhys, was now at the center of the arena.

"Hello, new player!"

A cheerful voice beckoned toward Rhys. A woman standing several feet in front of him appeared with burgundy hair, a modest bust, glasses and a green dress.



"My name is Mizuho Kazami, and I will be your sensei for the duration of this tutorial, onegai."

She bowed to him and smiled warmly.

Rhys looks around once he heard the voice of a young women speak out, inspecting the environment as it suddenly changes once more from the blank slate state to an arena. He then notice the young lady speaking to him, taking a few steps forward and analyzing her appearance. The firm, busty shape along with the elegant and modest appearance was a nice touch to the realistic appeal. Rhys didn't get aroused by this whatsoever since majority of MMOs will tend to use sex appeal to lure many players in. More likely male players since the female attires are usually the most appealing. In his mind ran a quick thought.

"Just like any other MMO, there is always a sexy person to introduce you to keep your attention no matter what."

After the thought, he replied back to her greeting with a bow.

"Hello, Ms. Kazami. I am Rhys Crawford and I am appreciated with the tutorial sesson."

Mizuho turned a slight pink and let out a soft womanly giggle. She was glad to be doing a tutorial with such a well-mannered person like Rhys.

"Well, you may call me Kazami-sensei if you'd like, Rhys-kun. Now, without further ado I shall properly introduce you to the world of Lux Eterna!"

(An opening animation played for Rhys. It was an intense anime like opening, very different from the rather depressing and deep voiced narrator speaking out your goals and duty. This was more of like an open-ended visual novel like opening introducing and teasing at some in-game content)

After the intense opening Rhys was "returned" back to the arena. Mizuho was then suddenly next to Rhys, smiling. She'd hand him a starter kit that had everything he needed in order to get his train rolling.

"Before starting on your journey, Rhys-kun, can I have a look at your combat abilities?"

Kazami-sensei inquired and with the snap of a finger, there came a Warhog that digitized into the game world, much like how Crawford had entered the world the first time. The beast snorted and looked at its possible enemy with a narrowed and fearsome look.

Details: Kazami-sensei advises all new players to test their battle skills out against a single warhog under her watchful eye. You cannot be killed, but unfortunately you will not gain any exp or receive any items.

Reward: A Zesu Rating System and Zesu Stamp of Approval from Kazami-sensei.

Rhys cross his arms as he watch the opening introduction to Lux Eterna Online. The vivid and enthusiastic style that it gave out did make an impression for him along with the narration and sneak peeks of the in-game content. It did make him crack a happy smirk from it seeing how much work that the developers put into the opening. The real key concept wasn't for the graphics, but for the gameplay itself and can it offer much replay value to continue onward for many players. Afterwards, he was teleported back to the arena.

He listened to the request from Mizuho to analyze his combat abilities. It appears that the tutorial was about to commence as a boar begins to spawn into the same area that he is. He nods at Mizuho while reaching out for this starter weapon: The broad sword. Holds the sword with two hands as a start.

"Certainly. This should help me out nicely."

He targets towards the warthog and runs towards it, aiming to attack the boar with a horizontal slash to begin.

The boar watched as Rhys began to close the distance between them. Instinctively it chose to take a good hop back some distance, when the deadly broadsword came in for the powerful horizontal slash. The little piggy had just cleared the distance and upon landing grew angry. The creature pawed at the ground fiercely before taking off in a sudden sprint. Its eyes glowed as it would bring its head lower and try to get that one powerful gore attack in that would hurt if it hit.

Seeing that the attack have missed, Rhys would seem quite open to an oncoming attack to the boar. However, taking a blow is not an option for him from any enemy, let alone a tutorial minion. He kept his posture and waits for the beast to strike at him with full force. Once it got near enough to tackle him down Rhys utilize a combat roll to the left in order to avoid the rush. This allowed him another chance to take a vertical leap slash at the pig from behind as an attempt.

The Warhog had missed horribly and for it, suffered a powerful leaping attack. The creature was sent reeling, flying back a little bit on its side in a skid. Blood oozed out of the beast's thick hide that was easy slashed open by the broadsword. It limped for a little bit, but became steadfast. Warhog's eyes grew even more violent and it charged forward once more in a reckless tackle.

Rhys took heed upon the warthog and awaited once more for the beast to come at him with full force, aiming to use the same tactic once more. During the time, he peeked at what else his skillset offers along the way and notice that he has a light magic ability called 'Bright Burst' As the boar rushes towards him, he leap to the side once more and stuck his palm out towards the Warthog. His voice speaks out as the palm glows bright to unleash the ability.

"Bright Burst!"

A small beam of light shot out of the palm and dash towards the Warthog, aiming to cause a hit and explode with a burst of light energy at the target for a hit.

The Warhog would have came in close to its target and went through the motion to tackle its opponent with sheer amounts of force. However, the porker's attempt failed when Rhys had jumped to the side and fired a beam of light straight towards it. Ironically, Rhys's Bright Burst hit the Warhog in the exact same spot that he had slashed beforehand (Though, that doesn't count as extra damage, lol). The small creature let out a pained squeal before its body had been obliterated into nothingness by the light.

Afterwards, there would be a small orb of light that served as a remnant of the Warhog. It burst open and its light contents fluttered over Rhys, giving him a sense of growth and warmth.

"Congratulations Rhys-kun! That was a splendid display! The light you just absorbed would be your experience out in the actual world and the floating orb of light there would be any dropped items by the enemy. Do not forget to retrieve them when they appear."

A second flash of light would appear and a small blue chest would appear. "

"That's a common chest. They sometimes appear after defeating a weaker enemy. They are the chest most commonly found all around Lux Eterna."

The chest would disappear and then a bigger red chest would appear.

"That's a rare chest. They sometimes appear after defeating powerful monsters. They are usually really well hidden around the world and most are only found in dungeons."

Finally, a huge gold chest would take the place of the red chest.

"You probably already guessed it, but this would be a legendary chest. They only appear after secret boss battles and are only found in the most dangerous and difficult of areas."

After her explanation, the chest faded.

"Be warned, Rhys-kun, that the monsters out there will be much tougher, including the Warhog you just faced. And sometimes that don't attack alone."

Mizuho smiled warmly again and a gate behind Rhys would rise up, letting a shining light blaze into the room.

"Looks like you've completed the tutorial Rhys-kun. Is there anything else? Did I forget something?"

She wondered the last part with a cute quizzical look on her face. She was pretty sure she was forgetting something, but the game opened the gate signifying the tutorial was over, so that probably wasn't the case.

After the defeat of the tutorial warthog, Rhys would smile lightly from the accomplishment that he'd just done. Granted, it was a simple task like any other MMO he played. The thrill of the hunt and action was all that matters. He sheathes his broadsword back to unequip himself out of combat stance while switching his attention towards Mizuho, listening to the explanations of the chests, items, and experience orbs. Should have been basic common knowledge for any MMO or RPG player, but its always safe for anyone to pay attention to the basics more than just winging it. Rhys continues to smile while listening, nodding once she was finished and asked if there were anything that she forgot to explain to him.

"Thank you for the explanation, Ms. Kazami. I now understand clearly about the functions in top notch shape. Nothing was of miss and everything is set to go."

He bows to her once more before heading towards the gate to enter into the Kingdom of Raizen, ready for his own journey to begin in LEO. He speaks out to her once more before teleporting.

"Thank you once again for the tutorial, Ms. Kazami. I look forward into telling you my journey in LEO if we ever meet again."

As Rhys moves forward and leaves the area, Kazami smiles brightly at his politeness and waves back. Once he's gone she puts her hand to her chin again. Then she blanched, remembering what she had forgotten.

"His reward! Oh no, why do I always forget that!"

She cried out with tears in her eyes before bursting into red light to await the next the person to come for a tutorial. She was sure she would see him again, so she would give him his reward later. Besides, it wasn't like she was supposed to give people important things anyway.
